Christ, our very life and breath
You alone we serve
You alone our Sabbath rest
In the Lord we have put our trust
And praise the God who first loved us.
We your creatures are
We unworthy sinners are
You have come to us
Even when we were afar
In Your love You have shown Your grace
And moved us Lord to seek Your face.
Christ, we still do not
Love you nearly as we ought
Grant us, Holy Lord
Please conform us to your Word
Work in us to do your will
And make us be more loving still.
Christ, we worship You
Who is worthy? Only You!
Self-esteem we shun
Keep our frailness in our view
Bring us nearer to obey
And keep us in the narrow way.
Christ, we yearn for You
By Your Word our minds renew
Fix our hope in You
Make us come to You anew
Then may we our sin confess
And praise You, Christ, our righteousness.
