Did You Know ...

(From Outside the Camp Vol. 2, No. 3)

Did you know that the hymn "Faith Of Our Fathers" was written by a man who had recently converted to Roman Catholicism? The third stanza (which has been altered in "Protestant" hymnals), was written like this:

"Faith of our fathers! Mary's prayers

Shall win our country back to thee;

And through the truth that comes from God

England shall then indeed be free.

Faith of our fathers, holy faith!

We will be true to thee till death."
