Disobedience to parents is wrong.
Murder is wrong.
Adultery is wrong.
Stealing is wrong.
Lying is wrong.
Covetousness is wrong.
Says who?
Says the Bible.
But that was written by a bunch of old men who are dead.
Who are they to tell me what's right and what's wrong?
These are God's Words.

Say that the selfsame book is written by God and not by men?
I say, to your own self be true.
Each person has to determine what is right and wrong
In his own mind.

Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, prostitutes, homosexuals,
Thieves, covetous ones, drunkards, revilers, plunderers
Are all wicked people.

What a pitiful rebuttal.
I'm going home.
I'm home, going through the door, and what a horrible sight my eyes see.
All my possessions stolen
My wife and daughters raped and murdered
What wicked people did this?
Who says they're wicked?
I do.
But they don't.
They say,

Who's good and who's bad.
We believe that stealing is right and good, not wrong and bad.
We believe that rape is right and good, not wrong and bad.
We believe that murder is right and good, not wrong and bad.
And who are you to tell us that we're wrong in what we believe?
You may believe that stealing and rape and murder are wrong,
But that's your own belief; it's not ours.
So let us go and do our thing
And we'll let you go and do your thing
And none of us will judge each other
Because the standard of right and wrong,
Good and bad,
Is different for every person.
Every person is his own standard.
But ...
You have no argument against what they're saying
Since you believe there is not one set standard.
Either the Bible is the one infallibly true standard
Or everyone can make their own standards up.
But I don't like all the standards the Bible sets up.
I'll just pick the ones I like.
And they say,
Yeah, we will to.
We like the one about not lying
But we don't like the ones about not stealing, raping, and murdering.
So we won't lie, and we will judge all liars to be wicked,
But we'll continue to steal, rape, and murder.
But ...
You take it all or you take none.
Either the Bible is the one infallibly true standard
Or everyone can make their own standards up
Including picking and choosing from the Bible.
Which will it be?
Is the Bible the perfect Word of God?
If it is not, then you cannot condemn
The thieves, rapists, and murderers
Because they are doing what is right
According to their own standard.
If the Bible is the perfect Word of God
Then all of it is the Word of God.
The Law is the Word of God.
The Gospel is the Word of God.
The History is all true.
It's one or the other.
A generation pure in its own eyes, and yet not washed from its own filth. (Proverbs 30:12)
Woe to those who say to evil, good; and to good, evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those wise in their own eyes, and discerning in their own sight! (Isaiah 5:20-21)
